About the role
Reporting to the Group Controller, the Controller will provide support in daily accounting tasks in addition to monthly forecasting, the annual budget, and special projects. You will interact with employees from all aspects of the business including Sales and Fixed Operations. Your success within the role is reliant on an ambitious work ethic, excellent communication and the ability to problem-solve
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, managing and coordinating the provision of accounting and financial services for the organization
- Ensure production of timely and accurate financial information and statements and the provision of financial reporting
- Lead account analysis and GL account reconciliation
- Assist with both internal and external audits.
- Assist or develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Complete payroll functions
- Leads or participates in other assigned projects.
Key Competencies
- **Education and Experience:**Recognized professional accounting designation and a minimum of 2 years’ related experience postgraduate from a recognized university in business administration or commerce CPA (Certified Professional Accountant) designation or working towards it is required.
- **Accounting knowledge:**Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial controls
- Information technology knowledge: Functional and technical knowledge and skills in accounting systems and software. Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel), payroll and accounting software
- Ability to work under pressure, time-sensitive deadlines, and multi-task: Deals with time constraints. Able to multi-task, plan, and rank the completion of tasks by priority.
