Reporting to the Senior Manager of Human Resources, the HR Generalist plays a pivotal role in supporting a wide range of HR functions. Key responsibilities include overseeing the employee well-being initiatives, group insurance programs, disability leave cases, return-to-work processes, and associated documentation.
The HR Generalist is responsible for coordinating the mandatory training program and actively contributing to the development, revision, and implementation of HR policies and procedures. In addition, this role plays a key part in labor relations by fostering constructive and collaborative relationships among union representatives, managers, and employees. The HR Generalist ensures the consistent and equitable application of collective agreements, supports grievance and arbitration processes, negotiations and provides guidance on labor-related matters to promote a positive and compliant work environment.
Requirements
- Have a college degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- Must have a minimum of 4 to 6 years of relevant HR experience.
- Must have experience in the administration of collective agreements (negotiations, grievances, and arbitration procedures) in a unionized environment.
- Must have experience in overseeing the hiring process (job descriptions, postings, interviews, references) by working with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Must have knowledge of employment and related legislation (e.g. Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, Employment Equity Act, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal, time management, communication and conflict resolution skills to deal effectively with multiple stakeholders and complex situations.
- Ability to work at all levels of the organization including with the Executive Management Team.
- Able to demonstrate sound analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Effective problem-solving and teamwork abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both official languages (French and English).

Salary
Class 4 of the non-unionized salary scale: $79,576 to $99,469/annually.
