Role description: The Senior Track Design Engineer will direct project design and construction plan production on large design-build transportation assignments.
In this role, you will lead, develop and clearly convey the track design into engineering drawings and specifications and independently lead the track design efforts to produce quality construction documents. Design Build expertise is critical, and you must have a thorough understanding of construction methods and the manner in which engineering drawings and specifications are translated into the constructed product. You will work closely with project leadership and other key disciplines.
The position may include opportunities to develop and enhance project management skills and serve as a mentor
to junior-level engineering and design staff. Must uphold engineering ethics and standards of conduct
Role accountabilities:
- Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates track design for a total project of moderate to large scope
- Performs preliminary engineering design and/or reviews the design and drafting work of engineers, designers and drafters
- Monitors and manages track design activities in accordance with established scope, schedules, and budgets
- Prepares or oversees the preparation of final plans and reports and submits them for approval
- Works with contractor and Arcadis internal staff members to effectively identify cost effective track solutions
- Coordinates work with other engineers and professionals within and outside own discipline, and with support services staff
- May perform such other duties as the supervisor may deem from time to time as necessary
- Ability to assist with strategy development on growth initiatives both in Freight and Transit
Qualifications & Experience:
- 7+ years of progressive experience in track design
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Current Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation in Ontario
- Past track design role on large multi-discipline Design Build project
- Strong technical writing, computer and communications skills

The salary range for this position is $95,900 - $178,100. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
