#Instructor, Pharmacy Technician Program (PTEC: 224)

The School of Health and Human Services invites applications for a part-time instructor in the Pharmacy Technician Diploma Program. This program is CCAPP accredited and delivered using a blend of face-to-face lab classes and practicum in both community and hospital pharmacy environments.

Under the direction and supervision of the School Chair, the successful applicant will teach the face-to-face lab course PTEC 224: “Non-sterile Compounding”.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to Pharmacy Technician students in lab environments
• Evaluate students in lab environments
• Develop and maintains curriculum
• Effectively collaborates with the school chair, program coordinator and with program colleagues
• Actively contribute to the college, school and program
• Maintain positive relationships with the school chair, program colleagues, other members of the College, and members of our communities as a whole
• Will also meet the major accountabilities as documented in the college instructor job description

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Demonstrated ability to teach and evaluate students
• Excellent communication skills; classroom management and leadership skills
• Ability to contribute to School and/or College initiatives and a commitment to continuous learning
• Working knowledge of Kroll dispensing software
• Experience applying the NAPRA Model Standards of Practice for Compounding of Non-Sterile Preparations.

Education and Experience

• A Pharmacy Technician certificate or diploma, or a pharmacy degree from a CCAPP accredited program
• Registered pharmacy technician or pharmacist in the province of BC
• Current relevant practice in a community or hospital pharmacy environment, including non-sterile compounding of dosage forms including topical creams, ointments, gels, oral solutions, suspensions, and capsules, lip balms, and suppositories.
• Three to Four years teaching experience is an asset
• Provincial Instructor Diploma credential is an asset

This is a non-regular, part-time (72%) position, commencing July 13, 2026, and ending September 4, 2026. Salary and Benefits are in accordance with the BCGEU Collective Agreement. The salary range is $2,763.30 - $4,428.06 bi-weekly (at 100% appointment) and is based on qualifications and experience.
