Job Description
We are looking for a Field Technician to supply, maintain and create signs throughout the County of Grande Prairie. Reporting to the Lead Hand, Signs, this position will work out of The County's Sign Shop on a team of three, but be required to travel all over the County to install and repair signs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Installation and maintenance of signs including thermoplastic pavement markings.

Obtain and follow correct procedures for Alberta One Calls.

Prioritize and repair downed signs in accordance with County Policies, Alberta Transportation’s Recommended Practices and the Traffic Safety Act.

Inspect new sign installations.
-
Provide direction to sign shop labour assistance and installers.
-
Ensure inventory of signs, hardware and materials is fully maintained.
-
Create custom & rural address signs using Graphtec software and plotter.
-
GPS data collection for County signs.
-
Complete documentation and computer data entry related to sign work.
-
Annual review/inventory of County signs (min. ½ per year).
-
Operate 1-ton picker and 5-ton picker truck, as required.
-
Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
-
Grade twelve diploma or equivalent
-
Experience working in a sign shop including sign installation preferred
-
Picker experience preferred
-
Class 5 driver's license and Clean Abstract
-
Ability to work overtime when required
Additional Information
This position is Permanent Full-time, Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm for 40 hours per week, with some overtime as required.
Hourly Pay: $35.66 to $41.95.
