About the job
As part of the Child and Parent Resource Institute (CPRI) team, your work as a Housekeeping Cleaner directly supports children and youth with complex mental health and developmental challenges. You'll help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children, youth, families, and staff.
Your tasks will include:
- Performing a variety of cleaning and housekeeping duties
- Safely disposing of waste, recyclables, and soiled items
- Disinfecting surfaces and areas, using specialized products for infection control
- Restocking supplies and maintaining inventory
- Carrying out basic preventative maintenance
- Moving furniture and equipment to complete cleaning tasks
- Reporting any equipment issues for repair
What you bring to the team
Cleaning Knowledge and Experience
- You have knowledge of and experience with various cleaning methods, techniques, equipment, chemicals and materials
- You have cleaning experience in corporate, institutional, or residential settings
- You have experience with general waste management and safe disposal procedures
- You understand and adhere to Occupational Health and Safety Standards and WHMIS in order to maintain a safe work environment
Essential Skills
- You have communication skills to interact with staff and clients
- You can understand and carry out oral or written instructions
- You can work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team
- You have problem-solving skills to determine appropriate cleaning methods and solutions
