About the Position
Position Title: Video Editor
Job Type: Full Time, Temporary (8 weeks)
Work Location: 3820, 32nd Street NE, Calgary Alberta T1Y7L9
Department: Administration
Reports to: Media, Partnership & External Relations Strategist or Designate
Position Overview
The Video Editor (Summer Job) will support TIES’ strategic visual communications strategy. Working closely with the Media Strategist or designate, the successful candidate will create, edit, and produce videos that contribute to the public awareness of TIES various programs. This role is ideal for a creative and detail‑oriented student with strong editing and storytelling skills who is eager to contribute to meaningful community‑focused initiatives.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Edit and produce high-quality video content for websites, social media platforms, YouTube, and other digital channels.
- Repurpose long-form videos into short, engaging clips optimized for social media platforms.
- Apply various online video editing techniques and formats to enhance storytelling and audience engagement.
- Create and integrate graphics, text animations, and basic motion graphics into video projects.
- Perform audio editing tasks including noise reduction, sound mixing, synchronization, and audio enhancement.
- Conduct color correction and color grading to ensure professional visual quality.
- Export videos in appropriate formats, resolutions, and settings for multiple platforms.
- Upload and publish video content across digital channels including websites, YouTube, and social media.
- Collaborate with content creators, marketing teams, and stakeholders to develop compelling visual stories.
- Organize project files, maintain editing workflows, and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- Troubleshoot creative and technical issues during the editing process.

Requirements / Qualifications
- Recent graduate or current post-secondary student
- Must be between 15–30 years of age in accordance with Canada Summer Jobs program requirements
- Employment is subject to funding approval through the Canada Summer Jobs Program
- Must have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) and be legally authorized to work in Canada
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational, research, and time-management abilities
- Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently or collaboratively
- Professional and positive attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute to community-focused initiatives
