**Metering Network Analyst (12 month contract)
Location: Surrey, BC
Staffing Placement Opportunity** General Description
- The Technical Analyst Level 2 conducts system analysis within an IT infrastructure environment, manages IT service requests, and assists in incident management, communication, and change coordination activities to support business operations and initiatives in achieving organizational objectives.
Experience And Role Accountabilities
- A minimum of five (5) years of work experience as an analyst in IT infrastructure, particularly in data center and/or end-point device management, or equivalent.
- Collaborate with outsourced service providers to troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve day-to-day issues to meet operational requirements.
- Manage technology service requests by reviewing and approving requests according to established processes and standards to ensure accurate and timely delivery of requirements to end users.
- Contribute to IT infrastructure projects, including technology refreshes, upgrades, and operational improvement initiatives to maintain quality service delivery.
- Research, analyze, review, and update operational processes and infrastructure documentation to support process optimization.
- Assist with infrastructure asset management by monitoring hardware and software usage, addressing issues, and ensuring the availability of required services.
- Coordinate infrastructure-related change activities by liaising with multiple teams and service providers to implement changes as planned.
- Continuously improve infrastructure solutions by identifying improvement opportunities, evaluating feasible technical options, and enhancing service request processes and other operations to deliver innovative, reliable technology solutions.
Education And Skills
- Bachelor’s degree, technical diploma, or certificate in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or equivalent.
- Strong working knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies, including data centers, system management, end-user devices, virtualization, storage, security, and mobile device management.
- Proven experience managing third-party vendors.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills suitable for professional environments.
Must-haves Work Assignment Requirements
- Minimum five (5) years of experience as an IT infrastructure analyst in areas such as data center or end-point device management.
- Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Certification equivalent to Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in network operations, including metering, mesh, and field device network systems and procedures.
- Familiarity with applications such as SAP, OpenWay Reporting System (ORS), OpenWay Collection Engine (CE), and Field Network Director (FND).
- Experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Salesforce.
- Ability to generate data files in specific formats to support ad hoc meter data requests.
- Advanced skills in spreadsheet tools like Excel.
- Proficiency with common desktop applications (e.g., word processing, internet browsing, email).
- Knowledge of escalation protocols and troubleshooting procedures.
- Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills for complex, multi-variable issues.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Effective teamwork and organizational abilities.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
Additional Requirements
- Participation in vendor training for device and OS upgrades affecting core routers and back-end functions.
- Ability to lift 10–15 pounds of equipment.
