NATURE OF WORK

The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in performing various technical tasks related to the management of human and financial resources, systems and procedures, communication and publicity; booking meeting places, ensuring travel arrangements of staff, preparation and implementation of standards for furniture and equipment, as well as performing various tasks of an administrative nature of the purpose of ensuring satisfactory operations. In his or her work the administrative technician may assist professional personnel.

CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS

The administrative technician reports directly to the Director of iiyiyiuiyihtiwin Research and Development. His/her duties include;

The employee gathers, analyzes and prepares files or information for the purpose of determining needs, more specifically in the areas of budget preparation and purchasing, making appropriate recommendations;

The employee evaluates the characteristics of new products, appraises office furniture on their dependability, detects possible defects, and may supervise and direct the installation of equipment for all iiyiyiuiyihtiwin Research and Development Offices;

The employee performs other administrative tasks, collecting and preparing data in order to send organizations concerned the overall administrative requirements, in terms of budgets, purchase, office layout and transportation of professionals and teachers;

The employee may attend meetings for the purpose of informing personnel of administrative problems and may be asked to act as secretary;

The employee may be asked to train less experiences technicians, and to coordinate the work of support personnel such as the office agent;

If need be, he or she performs other related tasks.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Must hold a college diploma in an appropriate specialty or equivalent attestation;

Fluency in Cree and English is required;

Knowledge of the French language is an asset;

Ability to read and write in Cree is an asset;

High level of proficiency in Microsoft and data management systems;

High level of autonomy and strong communication skills;

Detail oriented;

Willingness to participate in ongoing training to develop knowledge and skills;

Willingness to travel.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

Regular - Full time;
35 hours/week.
