About the role

JOB DESCRIPTION

AAA Canada is looking for a Systems Integration Engineer for hydro-mechanical systems, you will play a key role in the design, integration, validation, and certification of critical aircraft systems such as flight controls, hydraulic systems, and/or landing gear. You will coordinate technical activities between suppliers, internal teams, and various program stakeholders to ensure system performance and compliance with certification requirements. to bring expertise and value to our team. As a Systems Integration Engineer for hydro-mechanical systems, you will play a key role in the design, integration, validation, and certification of critical aircraft systems such as flight controls, hydraulic systems, and/or landing gear. You will coordinate technical activities between suppliers, internal teams, and various program stakeholders to ensure system performance and compliance with certification requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the integration of flight control, hydraulic, and/or landing gear systems: definition, specification, design, analysis, modification, testing, and certification.
  • Coordinate product development activities between the system supplier and internal work packages.
  • Ensure the successful design, validation, certification, and delivery of the assigned system.
  • Contribute to and review the deliverables of each development phase (author, review, approve).
  • Analyze and resolve technical issues in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Review the design and technical documentation related to your system.
  • Assess and verify the quality of suppliers’ analyses and deliverables.
  • Validate and verify system requirements and performance through design reviews, analyses, bench testing, and flight testing.
  • Define, prepare, and execute qualification and certification tests.
  • Work closely with suppliers to investigate and resolve test findings.
  • Prepare and/or review qualification and certification reports.
  • Collaborate with Stress, Loads, Reliability, Maintainability & Safety (RM&S), Simulation, Customer Support, and Operations departments.
  • Identify issues, risks, and obstacles; ensure appropriate follow-up and communication of progress.
  • Prepare technical reports, summaries, and presentations.

Skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in the design, integration, development, and certification of hydro-mechanical systems.
  • Good understanding of airworthiness regulations and the certification process (EASA, FAA, TCCA, etc.).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English (French is an asset).
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and customers.
  • Dynamic, proactive, and responsible professional with good technical judgment.
  • Proficient in MS Office (mandatory).
  • Knowledge of CATIA, MATLAB, and Simulink considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical rigor and attention to detail.
  • Initiative and sense of ownership.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Team-oriented mindset with excellent interpersonal skills.
