Come build a career as unique as you are. The Emera internal audit team is looking to add an audit professional in a permanent position. Reporting to the Manager, Audit Services, applicants can be considered either at the Auditor or Senior Auditor level dependent on years of experience. In both cases, the successful candidate will work closely with the wider enterprise audit team where you will execute business process Assurance & Advisory activities for all Emera affiliates across multiple jurisdictions, including the US, Canada, and the Caribbean.

As Auditor or Senior Auditor you will:
- Conduct internal audit assurance and advisory engagements and provide governance, risk and control-related professional expertise
- Assess risks within audit areas and develop appropriate audit testing programs based on your evaluation of the control and risk environment
- Build and maintain relationships with operating company employees, stay informed on risks and strategic initiatives impacting applicable operating companies, and gain consensus regarding potentially contentious or sensitive items
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency in support of the organization’s overall strategy to optimize processes and enhance organizational capacity
- Track remediation of previous audit issues and provide ongoing consultation on remediation approach
- Ensure internal audit deliverables are completed within budget and timelines

The successful individual will have excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills and an ability to build consensus by consistently demonstrating credibility as a subject matter expert. You bring maturity, confidence, and decision-making capability, along with enthusiasm and energy.
You recognize yourself in most of the following competencies and skills:
- Direct or related work experience: Auditor - two or more years; Senior Auditor - three or more years
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in accounting, commerce, technology, or related discipline
- Certifications - or working towards certification - demonstrating broad knowledge of internal audit, business, or technology (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA, etc.)
- Working knowledge of audit concepts and techniques and a broad understanding of enterprise risk, corporate governance, and process and control design
- Strong attention to detail, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Experience facilitating challenging discussions and offering recommendations regarding critical issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to remain focused and deliver results in a rapidly changing and fast-paced environment
- Interest in data analytics, previous experience with Arbutus, IDEA or ACL is preferable
- Working knowledge of relevant standards, including IIA Standards
