Note: This is a full-time & on-call position directly reporting to the Director of Facilities; pay rate as agreed, based on experience, expertise, and applicable education.
POSITION SUMMARY
Facilities Maintenance
The primary responsibility of the Facilities Maintenance & Work Therapy Coordinator is to perform general building and property maintenance, and to coordinate and communicate with outside contractors when required. The incumbent is responsible for completion of facilities work and oversee work therapy performed by clients. Duties will include tending to the utility systems, performing routine maintenance activities, notifying management of a need for repairs. Additionally, they shall ensure that the grounds are maintained appropriately and must be knowledgeable about Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, the proper use and administration of PPE, and WHMIS.
Work Therapy Coordinator
The primary responsibility of the Work Therapy Coordinator is to implement, evaluate, and promote the Work Therapy component of Teen Challenge Canada’s residential alcohol and drug addiction faith-based program. The incumbent is responsible for the Work Therapy supervision of all clients enrolled in Teen Challenge’s program. Responsibilities include: ensuring clients are assigned and scheduled to appropriate Work Therapy tasks, promoting and ensuring the health and safety of clients, training and orientating new and/or reinstated clients on proper work procedures, cultivating a respectful atmosphere and work ethic with Biblically-based expectations, while mentoring and guiding clients on a daily basis. A working knowledge of the Bible is essential to effectively mentor and guide clients within this faith-based context.
