Post-Doctoral Fellow (SRI) - Physical Sciences - Temporary Full-time 2026-17033
About the role
A temporary full-time, grant-funded Post-Doctoral Fellow position is available immediately, in the Physical Sciences Platform at Sunnybrook Research Institute, to develop and evaluate focused ultrasound in the spine.
This research group has a multi-disciplinary team of individuals with backgrounds in physics, engineering, biology, and medicine. The clinical relevance of this work is high, and the pace of research is fast. This is an excellent environment for a motivated individual interested in the field of medical technology and biomedical engineering to gain valuable skills and experience
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out experimental and computational work, performing data analysis and preparing manuscripts for publication.
Responsibilities include:

Implementing numerical models and conducting in silico analyses
-
Conducting benchtop and in vivo experiments of focused ultrasound in the spine
-
Analyzing research results and preparing manuscripts for publication
Requirements:
-
PhD received in last 5 years in Medical Biophysics, Biomedical Engineering, Physics or related discipline

Strong programming skills and prior experience with acoustic simulations
-
Experience operating Verasonics beamforming platform
-
Experience with acoustic field measurements in spine
-
Experience with large animal models of ultrasound bioeffects in the spine.
