Shipping/Receiving/Inventory Control

(Technical & Resource Support A)** Location: Communication Assistance for Youth and Adults (CAYA)

Department: Learning Services Division

Position Type: full-time

Hours of Work: 7 hours/day

Hourly Salary: $29.13/hour

Communication Assistance for Youth and Adults (CAYA) is a province wide service program that supports adults aged 19 years and older who require an augmentative/alternative communication (AAC) system due to a severe communication disability, i.e. speech that is not functional for daily communication. Operates a provincial Loan Bank of Assistive Technology equipment.

Job Band Description: Completion of Grade 12 plus up to 1 year post-secondary training and up to 3 years related experience. Performs operational, stores and cataloguing functions involving a variety of procedures, materials, machinery and equipment. Work includes receiving, storing and distributing a variety of supplies and materials, coordinating deliveries, maintaining statistics, computerized databases or inventory file records and operating a variety of equipment including binders, printing presses or forklifts. May provide direction to support staff.

Required Qualifications: Completion of grade 12 plus 1 year post-secondary training and a minimum of 1 year related experience. Performs operational, stores and cataloguing functions involving a variety of procedures, materials, machinery, and equipment. Work includes receiving, storing and distributing a variety of supplies and materials, coordinating deliveries, maintaining statistics, computerized databases and operating a variety of equipment. Knowledge and experience of Windows/Macintosh/Android operating systems, and Office 365 required. Experience working in Salesforce an asset. Must be willing to learn about specialized technology for communication and access. Must be able to lift 50 - 60 pounds.

Some Examples of Duties:

  • Provides technical & resource support for the Division
  • Performs shipping/receiving duties
  • Assists with physical inventory of warehouse
  • Monitors inventory levels to identify inventory order needs
  • Checks receiving reports for accuracy and completeness
  • Enters inventory data into databases, ensuring accuracy
  • Enters equipment configuration requirements for loan requests
  • Configures and tests equipment to ensure in working condition before shipping
  • Completes secure packaging processes
  • Conducts shipment dispatch for packaged equipment using online courier websites
  • Checks physical condition of, and cleans, returned equipment and verifies all components are accounted for
  • Communicates with staff, clients, client supporters, vendors, and community colleagues in regards to shipping/receiving inquiries
  • Performs other work within the band as assigned
