Job Description
The IT Intern provides technical assistance and support to end-users across the organization. They work closely with the IT team, assisting with troubleshooting, maintenance, and support for desktops, laptops, software, and network systems. Additionally, the IT Intern collaborates with the Business Application team to conduct testing for DevOps, projects, and other initiatives, allowing them to build a career in IT while developing essential skills and gaining practical exposure to IT operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
End-User Support
- Serve as an initial point of contact for end-users seeking technical assistance through various channels (phone, email, in-person).
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network issues for desktops, laptops, and peripherals, under the guidance of senior IT staff.
Remote Troubleshooting
- Conduct basic remote troubleshooting to diagnose technical problems.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and resolve issues efficiently, escalating complex problems as needed.
Problem Resolution
- Analyze user issues and provide accurate and timely solutions with support from the IT team.
- Guide users through step-by-step solutions and offer recommendations to prevent future issues.
Incident Management
- Document, track, and monitor incidents to ensure resolution, with support and supervision.
- Escalate more complex issues to senior IT staff when necessary.
Software and Hardware Maintenance
- Assist with software installations, configurations, and updates.
- Perform hardware maintenance and replacements under supervision.
User Training
- Support end-users by providing basic training on IT systems, applications, and best practices.
IT Documentation
- Maintain accurate documentation of IT assets, configurations, and user support activities.
Collaboration and Communication
- Work with other IT team members to address complex issues and support overall system performance improvements.
- Communicate effectively with end-users, providing a positive and professional experience.
Asset and Hardware Management
- Help track and manage IT assets and hardware inventory.
- Conduct basic audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Project Involvement
- Participate in projects aimed at improving IT processes and system enhancements, under the guidance of senior team members.
Multi-Office Support
- Support IT operations across different office locations as needed, ensuring consistent service delivery.
Collaboration with Business Application Team
- Work with the Business Application team to conduct testing for DevOps, projects, and other initiatives as required.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated interest or experience in IT support or a related role.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and deliver a positive customer experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft certifications are a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Exchange, and basic networking concepts.
Work Schedule: This is a hybrid role, with a combination of in-office and remote work in accordance with company guidelines.

- Frequently required to sit, talk, and hear.
- Frequently required to stand and move; use hands to grasp, squeeze, finger, handle, and feel; reach, push, and pull with hands and arms; occasionally required to twist; reach overhead; stoop, kneel, squat, bend, and crouch.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
- Standard office working conditions.
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment (up to 50 pounds).
- Must be willing and able to travel to different offices to provide IT support as the business may require.
