The Data Operations team within the Investment Solutions Group (ISG) at HOOPP enables the management and governance of investment related data assets to provide timely, accurate, complete and accessible data. Through our strategic and methodical approach, our team provides innovative technical solutions for users so they can make confident data driven decisions and improve data literacy. Our goal is to empower our consumers by providing lasting solutions that fit their growing needs.
Our Data Operations team is looking for a Sr. Business Analyst to support our data applications. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Investment Data Operations, you will play a key role in supporting day-to-day data transformation and lineage activities, while partnering with stakeholders to understand and meet their data needs.
What you will do:
- Collaborate with teams across the back, mid, and front office to understand their needs, co-create effective solutions, and keep stakeholders informed throughout the process.
- Integrate across multiple investment systems both internally and externally using custom or industry protocols
- Manage vendor relationships for new builds, enhancements, and support of existing workflows as well as analyze Impact from upstream system and vendor changes
- Create designs and processes to ensure operations of a critical business.
- Provide support for our business partners when anomalies occur, or questions need to be answered through investigation of technical problems.
- Collaborate with a team that embodies the agile mindset, involving high amounts learning and flexibility to achieve high performing results.
- Learn how we record transactions in our book of record and understand how to accurately confirm the state of the data through the source system and data warehouse
- Actively participate and contribute to Agile/ Scrum practices such as daily standups and backlog refinement.
- Support the team in developing and realizing the Product vision (develop roadmaps, manage scope, minimum viable products etc.)
- This role includes participation in a shared on-call rotation that includes weekend and holiday support within the team to support critical overnight data processes, ensuring timely and accurate morning data delivery
Who you are:

3+ years Capital Markets domain knowledge in at least one of the following areas:
- Futures, Bond, Equity, FX, or Derivatives trading and post trade
- Collateral Trading or Collateral Management
- Payment or Settlement tracking and processing

Experience supporting data operations including investigations and root cause analysis.

Experience working with 3rd party vendors and their integration teams (e.g., Bloomberg, ICE) to implement technical solutions on defined project timelines.

Understanding of IT principles such as databases, functions, UI, business rules, and software systems.
-
Possess a quality assurance mindset and capable of testing software to find issues and confirm functionality.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with users, developers, and stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions that support business outcomes.

Strong facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to uncover deeper business needs, usage patterns and understand the broader impact of decisions

Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Professionalism, integrity, and the ability to prioritize effectively in a dynamic, supportive team environment.

Knowledge of SQL and Python, or experience with SAP HANA, Snowflake. Experience with Bloomberg or SimCorp Dimensions (SCD) is an asset.
