Job Title: Senior Design Manager

is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Senior Design Manager  who thrives in a fast-paced environment.  The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of engineering tasks from administrative to strategic.  The position is based in Toronto, ON Canada.

Accountabilities:

• Responsible for conducting comprehensive conformance reviews of the station and guideway design packages, incl. engineering reports, drawings and models, against Project Agreement requirements and interface documents
• Distribute review responsibilities among project team members as required
• Coordinate with Contracting Authoring to develop and maintain review schedule
• Prioritize and monitor progress of the reviews
• Manage review distribution lists and review sessions in Bluebeam
• Brief Project Engineering and Interface Management on the findings
• Prepare and submit Review Comments Sheets
• Maintain review progress report

Required Skills/ Knowledge:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial engineering, mass transit engineering, subway station design, MEP engineering
• Prior experience with basic Project Management:
• Solid understanding of clash detection principles
• Strong prior experience with Microsoft Office suite, scheduling software (MS Project or Primavera), requirements management systems, and software configuration tools
• Prior experience managing small-medium sized projects and project teams
• Demonstrated ability to lead, engage, and manage tasking of cross-functional teams of varying skills/experience
• Success with multi-tasking across multiple projects at given time
• Builds effective relationships and has exceptional communication and leadership skills
• Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
• Undergraduate Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Design) from an accredited University or Equivalent Technical Experience

Desired Skills/ Knowledge:

• Mass transit domain construction or design experience is strongly preferred
• Experience in overall systems design methods and principles
• Experience in multi-disciplinary design reviews
• Experience in leading cross-functional teams
• Clear Criminal Background Check.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Ontario P.Eng (must)

Languages:

• English- Proficient
