About the role

Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Assistant Manager Events & Game Day Experience, the Ticket Sales and Event Assistant will oversee all administrative aspects of our ticket sales program from building the event in our software platform, to working with our social team to ensure promotion to providing timely reports and sales trending to the marketing team. This position will also be the key point of contact in terms of undertaking various initiatives to better engage our students via developing and maintaining relationships with student groups, carrying out existing programs and helping develop new strategies to further engage this group. Each initiative will have its own metrics reporting based on the various key performance indicators.

This position will assist with the execution of game day and other events. This position requires on-site attendance at numerous athletic events. The individual must be available and prepared to work flexible hours including frequent evening and weekends as required.

Qualifications:

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

  • Knowledge of ticketing software is required, specific experience with the Showpass software would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience and strong interpersonal skills are required, with a proven ability to elicit and foster trust, develop positive working relationships and work effectively with customers of all ages and backgrounds on campus partners, student groups and external stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience in executing high-quality, customer facing events that meet fan experience objectives and departmental standards, particularly in a university sports setting
  • Cash and credit reconciliation experience with knowledge of PCI regulations compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and preparation of report documents is essential.
  • Demonstrated student leadership is required to supervise student staff and other part time staff, as well as to communicate and inspire collaboration of key student groups on campus.
  • Strong organizational skills and time management abilities are essential, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment along with the ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills are required, including written and verbal.
  • Independence, discretion, good judgment, and solid decision-making is required.
  • This position requires on-site attendance at numerous athletic events. The individual must be available and prepared to work flexible hours including frequent evening and weekends as required.

Education and Experience:

The above is normally acquired through:

  • Completion of a three-year post-secondary accredited program specializing in the field of business, marketing, event management or communications is required.
  • Minimum of two years of related experience with demonstrated experience in event management or sports administration and hands-on proficiency with ticketing software (ideally Showpass).
  • The incumbent must demonstrate strong customer service skills and a background in coordinating events, preferably within a university sports setting with direct collaboration with student groups and/or a marketing team. Experience related equivalencies considered.
