Cornwall Electric (CE), located in the beautiful town of Cornwall, is seeking a motivated self-starter with a positive attitude and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. The successful candidate will be able to interact effectively with people in a professional manner, while complying with Company policies and procedures in accordance with relevant legislation and regulations governing the Electric Industry.

What this role does:

  • Prepare, revise, and maintain a variety of engineering drawings and documentation in accordance with company standards and project requirements.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all relevant organizational policies and procedures, ensuring consistent compliance in daily operations.
  • Assist engineering teams with on-site field work as needed, contributing to data collection, site assessments, and project execution.
  • Operate company vehicles as required.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance in accordance with company dress code standards to uphold a positive public image.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

What makes you a successful candidate?

  • Completion of a post-secondary diploma in Drafting, Engineering Design, or a related field from a recognized and accredited college.
  • Experience in drafting and related technical work, including roles as Junior and Intermediate Draftsperson or equivalent.
  • Must possess a good working knowledge of computer systems, electronics, software and hardware, including, but not limited to, CAD/GIS, databases, and business software (such as Microsoft Office and SAP).
  • Must possess excellent communication (verbal and written) skills as well as the ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers, customers, and industry partners. The ability to speak in French is considered an asset.
  • Must work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions from supervisor and peers.
  • Must possess an unrelenting commitment and passion to safety, ethics, and continuous improvement.
  • Must hold a valid Ontario G driver’s license and be capable of operating company vehicles as required
  • Ability to perform the physical duties associated with the classification, including fieldwork and equipment handling in all weather conditions.

What we have to offer:

  • This role offers a progression in pay starting from $25.62- $41.31. The starting rate for new hires will be based on their qualifications and the terms outlined in the collective agreement.
