About the role:

The Hospital strives to deliver care that is centred on patients and families. Patient and Family Centred Care (PFCC)

is the provision of care that is respectful of, and responsive to individual patient/family preferences, needs, and values

and ensures that those values guide all decisions. Creating a caring environment for patients and families ensures

continuity of care and fosters a learning environment. Applicants are required to have a demonstrated knowledge,

understanding and commitment to this care philosophy.

Reporting to the Manager, Stroke, Neurology, Cardiac Diagnostics & Cardiac Rehab, the Cardio Technician is

responsible for completing Electrocardiograms (ECG’s) for both inpatients and outpatients in all areas of the hospital.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience:

*Current certification in BCLS

*Graduate of a CMA accredited Cardiology Technology Program

*Current Certification with Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT)

Skills/Abilities:

*Excellent interpersonal communication skills (electronic, oral and written)

*Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in an interprofessional team environment

*Demonstrated computer literacy with Electronic Medical Records (Meditech) and PACS applications including GE

MUSE

*Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and awareness

*Excellent problem solving, decision making, and critical thinking skills

*Excellent organizational and time management skills

*Demonstrated regular attendance

Assets:

*Additional education in Cardiology or medical field

Salary Range: $35.930 to 41.370
