About the role
We are currently seeking a part-time experienced Housekeeper to support a large private residence in the Caledon East area on a 6-month contract basis, with the potential to become permanent. The desired candidate will have proven experience in refined households, luxury estates, and/ or five-star hotels. This role is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the general appearance of the private residence and is ideal for a professional who takes pride in upholding the highest standards of service, discretion, and presentation.
Tasks will include but not limited to:
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness and order across all areas of the home, including the bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, living spaces, gym, theatre, etc.
- Provide expert care for fine furnishings, artwork, and specialty surfaces by using delicate cleaning methods.
- Laundry and wardrobe care- including washing, ironing, steaming, and linen care (including washing delicate fabrics)
- Closet organization, always maintaining personal effects properly
- Organizing and managing household inventories for cleaning supplies with foresight, informing the Hospitality Manager of replenishments.
- Assist in stocking and replenishing beverages and snacks in the fridges, wine cellar and other areas.
- Garbage and Recycling management
- Answering the doorbell, greeting guests and visitors professionally and warmly, creating a polished and welcoming atmosphere.
- Occasional pet management (walking, feeding, and supervision)
- Supervise and give direction to any 3rd party services (i.e. window cleaners, repairmen, etc.)
- Supporting kitchen staff with dishes, polishing silverware, ironing linens, etc.
- Assist with dining, private and social events, table setting, silver care, and support the Chef with cleaning dishes.
- Handling general requests as needed
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in luxury private households, estates, or five-star hospitality.
- Polished and confident in delivering service at the highest standard.
- English language proficiency and strong communication skills
- Experience in hands-on household work and knowledge of all areas of property cleaning and organizing
- Expertise in fine housekeeping, wardrobe management, and delicate fabric care.
- Knowledge of cleaning for art and specialty finishes is considered an asset.
- Exceptional organizational ability with a discreet, proactive, and service-focused approach.
- Experience with museum-quality cleaning and care for delicate surfaces, fine art, considered an asset
- Occasional flexibility in working hours, according to employer’s needs
- Ability to work independently with a proactive approach
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.

- Monday – Friday schedule, with some weekends required depending on business needs
