Job Title: Air Freight Pricing Senior Specialist

Location: YYZ - Mississauga

As an Air Freight Pricing Senior Specialist, you will lead the development and execution of competitive, market-aligned pricing for Air freight products. You will collaborate with Sales, Procurement, and Tender Management to drive profitability, optimize cost structures, and support sustainable business growth. Your deep market insight and strategic thinking will contribute directly to local pricing excellence.

Main tasks & Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Pricing: Develop and implement pricing in line with corporate objectives, market dynamics, and trade lane development goals
  • Tender Management: Lead local tender pricing initiatives, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and timely delivery; provide input to global tender requests
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor carrier rate developments, capacity trends, and competitor behaviors to provide actionable insights to commercial stakeholders
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the primary pricing advisor to Sales, and local customer services/ service delivery offering tailored solutions to maximize win rates and margins
  • Cost Optimization: Work closely with Procurement and Carrier Management to negotiate favorable local terms and improve cost structures
  • Data Governance: Oversee the accuracy and consistency of competitive rate and transit time data in pricing systems (e.g., MTS), and ensure regular updates of tariffs and surcharge information
  • Performance Monitoring: Analyze pricing performance, margins, profitability and conversion rates to continuously improve pricing and tender outcomes; ensure adherence to the global pricing and quoting processes
  • Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior pricing team members, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of pricing excellence
  • Spot quotes: ensure prompt and competitive response to spot quote requests which cannot be generated automatically out of the quotation system
  • Contract & Tariff Management: Manage local customer contracts, country tariffs, and costing governance, including creation and updates in systems (e.g. CW1, RMS)

Minimum Requirements (Education, experience and skills): Skills

  • In-depth understanding of the global freight forwarding and carrier landscape
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Strong Negotiation Skills
  • Proven ability to lead pricing efforts for complex tenders and high-value opportunities
  • Advanced Excel and pricing system knowledge (e.g., MTS, QuoteShop, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Results-driven, detail-oriented, and commercially minded
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced, cross-cultural environment

Stakeholders

  • Sales & Commercial Teams: Provide strategic input and pricing tools to win key business
  • Trade & Route Development: Align pricing with lane strategy and carrier agreements
  • Airlines & Transportation Suppliers: Leverage relationships for optimal rate sourcing
  • PCM: Coordinate with Procurement for pricing strategies
  • Global Pricing Teams: Ensure consistent, competitive responses to support global tenders and drive high win ratios for the country

Education

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/qualification in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Experience: more than 2 years of experience in pricing or trade management within the freight forwarding or shipping industry

Pay Transparency

  • Salary Range: CAD $60,000 – $80,000 base salary + incentive + full benefits.
