We are seeking a qualified professional Building Automation Systems Designer to join a growing Controls Service team out of Port Coquitlam. The leader in this role will play a pivotal part in further developing the Service teams owner direct/service project abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Development: Lead the design of BAS systems, including control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and sequence of operations.
- Standards Management: Develop and deliver appropriate BAS design standards that meet project requirements.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including system architecture diagrams and equipment schedules.
- Quality Assurance: Review and approve design documents to ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
- Client Engagement: Act as a primary technical contact for clients, participate in presentations and workshops to align expectations, as necessary.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and field technicians to align design solutions with project requirements.
- Technical Collaboration: Work with Service Team members to develop and present innovative technical solutions.
- Operational Management: Assist Sr. Leadership with labour planning, cost estimation and forecasting.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: 5+ years in BAS design, with 3 years in a leadership role (preferred).
- Professional Engineer (preferred) with relevant certifications in Building Automation Systems or related fields.
- Experience working with a full range of commercial and industrial BAS projects (preferred).
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in HVAC systems, control strategies, and communication protocols.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in Visio, AutoCAD, and other relevant design tools.
- Leadership & Communication: Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve design-related challenges efficiently.
