This position is responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining data science solutions with particular emphasis on data processing, algorithms, and machine learning methods. The scope of the role includes both existing software products and new products in development. What You'll Do
- Work on multiple data science projects with moderate assistance from senior data scientists.
- Participate in the full software development life-cycle.
- Participate in developing, documenting, testing, and debugging machine learning models in production.
- Follow our development best practices and standards.
- Actively participate in all Agile ceremonies.
- Collaborate with other data scientists and engineers within a small team structure.
- Continually pursue independent learning opportunities.
- Acquire technical expertise on the development of Machine Learning (ML) models including feature-engineered, LLMs, and generative models.
- Acquire domain expertise in one cybersecurity application area.
- Be able to start writing less complex technical documentation based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in data science roles is required.
- Some knowledge of Data Science techniques and methodologies, and experience applying these methodologies in active projects.
- Solid computer science foundation including data structures, algorithms, and software development principles.
- Very Comfortable writing code in in at least one major programming language such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Developed and attempted to deploy at least one ML model in industry.
- Working knowledge of Python-based frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate successfully within a small team.
- Some experience presenting complicated technical topics both verbally and in writing.
- Some knowledge and understanding of the Agile/Scrum project development methodology.
- Strong interest in cybersecurity applications.
This position requires proficiency in English to interact, support and/or provide services to non-French speaking customers, employees and/or partners inside and/or outside the province of Quebec.
