This particular job posting is for supporting the development of our paediatric OT's in the private and OAP sector.
What you will do:
- Supervision, Support and Mentorship of Occupational Therapist’s
- Teach new techniques, consistent with the health needs of the persons supported
- Oversee the overall quality assurance elements of care plans established by therapists to ensure that best practice standards are being maintained, legislative requirements are met, and the vision, purpose and values of the organization are upheld. Participate in the annual compliance and licensing process.
- Monitor the professional development and licensing requirements of staff and ensure that all requirements are met.
- QA of therapist’s documents/reports
- Overseeing therapist file management to maintain and build referral relationships
- Manage and monitor scheduling, hours of work, vacation requests, leaves, and performance of staff, provide continual feedback and support and follow established processes for addressing the performance of staff in collaboration with other managers, as may be required. Lead orientation of new staff as may be required.
- Clinical Occupational Therapy services for the company for ongoing coverage and to support the case load when needed
- Working with the Directors, identify, plan for, and address potential risks, liabilities, and issues.
- Monitor and administer the departmental annual budget, ensuring the proper allocation of resources, identifying program needs, and factoring in planned changes on service delivery
- Occupational Therapists interviews; Act as the hiring manager for the recruitment and selection of staff; work with human resources on all aspects of hiring including job postings, shortlisting, interviews, orientation, and onboarding.
- Other duties as assigned

What Our Paediatric Sector Looks Like:
- 4 Clinic Locations: Treatment & Sensory rooms , ++ gym in at some locations. This role is for supporting largely in person supervision of the Niagara locations, with monthly oversight in person of the Kitchener and Oakville location.
- This management role supports one-on-one clinical training and discussions with a group of OTs servicing our clinics. There is also oversight of our URS and OAP service sectors.
- Our therapists support a full spectrum of pediatric OT needs, including ASD, Learning Disabilities, and Developmental Disabilities, or support children who need some guidance with basic needs like handwriting, learning strategies, etc.
- You will be responsible for treating clients in the Niagara clinic sites (St. Catharines and Grimsby) at a 40-50% capacity. The other 50-60% of the week will be supporting clinical development/mentorship of therapists (10-15 ranging to part-time to full-time)

We provide hospital discharge planning services, followed by community based individualized care planning. There are a multitude of different types of intervention services our team provides including: home/vehicle accessibility, equipment prescription, community safety/reintegration, wheelchair positioning/ seating prescriptions, activities of daily living (ADL) re-training/ functional restoration programming, cognitive remediation/compensatory therapies, cognitive behavioural therapy, quality of life and return to modified sport programs. Our team is additionally skilled in vocational services, including return to work programs, work-site, vocational exploration and ergonomic assessments.
