Position: Full Time Security Guard
Site: Robert Bateman Community Centre, 5151 New St, Burlington, ON L7L 1V3
Hours: Saturday & Sunday (0700-1430 hrs)
Pay Rate: $19.57/hr
Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement after 88 hours

Job Description:
- Demonstrate full understanding and compliance with site's security policies and procedures, applying a professional and customer service–focused approach.
- Maintain an open, objective, and respectful attitude toward diverse community while assisting employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Perform access control, monitor CCTV and fire panels, and ensure all security systems and measures are functioning properly.
- Conduct proactive interior and exterior patrols to identify policy breaches, safety hazards, and facility concerns, reporting them promptly.
- Respond professionally and in a timely manner to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, maintaining calm and preventing unnecessary disruption.
- De-escalate incidents, provide support, and coordinate with emergency services such as police, fire, and paramedics when required.
- Deliver first aid and medical assistance as needed, and manage Lost & Found inquiries in accordance with site procedures.
- Maintain accurate and timely incident, patrol, and activity reports, ensuring all documentation meets site standards.
- Promote a safe, respectful, and cooperative work environment by fostering positive relationships with staff, clients, and the public, and by complying with all health and safety regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Security Leadership Team or Site management.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of access control, CCTV, fire equipment and fire monitoring systems
- Proficiency in Computer literacy
- Ability to sit/stand and walk/climb stairs throughout the building & push min. 25lbs
- Minimum of one year of experience in a security role is required
- A Valid Ontario Security Guard License & First AID CPR C
- Proficient in English (both oral and written)
- Customer Service Experience is considered an asset
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability.
