Your workweek will be varied, encompassing rotations through General Radiography, the Emergency Department, and Portables. About the Medical Imaging Department
The Medical Imaging Department provides an environment for leading edge clinical practice, teaching, and research programs in Radiography. The General Radiography department conducts a large volume of various types of Radiography exams for patient populations from the Emergency department to Outpatients and Inpatients.

In this role you will:

  • Perform medical imaging procedures
  • Operate, troubleshoot and ensure medical imaging and ancillary equipment are performing in an effective and efficient manner
  • Prepare written and electronic reports required documenting all procedures and test results
  • Participate in teaching, educational, research, safety and quality improvement programs/activities
  • Perform other related patient care responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care
  • Perform other duties consistent with the job classification as required

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

Mandatory

  • Certificate of registration in the specialty of Radiography from the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
  • Currently registered and in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
  • Completion of a Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification Completion of an accredited degree/post diploma Radiological Technology program, or recognized equivalent Consideration for hire may also be given to applicants currently enrolled in an accredited degree/post diploma Radiological Technology program – as a condition of hire the Radiological Technology program must be successfully completed within six (6) months of hire

Preferred

  • Level 1 and Level 2 CT

  • Membership with the CAMRT

  • CR and Digital Radiography experience

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent critical thinking, decision making and problem solving skills

  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment.

  • Effective body language and people management skills with the ability to demonstrate sensitivity when dealing with intimate patient contact situations
