Location: Remote (Canada)
Employment Type: Full-time
Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000 (based on experience)

Are you a strategic leader with deep knowledge of telecommunications regulations, public funding requirements, and contractual compliance? RFNOW Inc. is seeking a Director of Regulation and Compliance to lead our efforts in maintaining full compliance with all regulatory, legal, and funding obligations related to our major fiber infrastructure projects.

This role is critical to the success and integrity of our operations. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience working on government-funded infrastructure projects and a proactive approach to regulatory strategy, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.

What You’ll Do:

Regulation Compliance

  • Interpret and monitor federal, provincial, and municipal regulations, including CRTC and ISED requirements.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance throughout the fiber build lifecycle, from permitting to operations.
  • Prepare and submit required filings, reports, and documentation to regulatory authorities.

Government Funding Compliance

  • Oversee adherence to federal and provincial funding agreements.
  • Maintain documentation and controls to support audit readiness and milestone reporting.
  • Collaborate with finance and project teams to ensure alignment of financial and compliance reporting.

Contract Compliance

  • Manage compliance across construction, service provider, and procurement contracts.
  • Establish systems to track contract performance and fulfill reporting obligations.
  • Conduct internal audits and risk reviews tied to key contract terms.

Policy & Risk Management

  • Develop and maintain internal compliance policies and risk mitigation frameworks.
  • Lead internal education on regulatory and funding obligations.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on legal and regulatory issues affecting telecom projects.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, funding agencies, legal advisors, and auditors.
  • Advise senior leadership on regulatory strategy, risk exposure, and audit readiness.
  • Represent RFNOW in regulatory discussions, inspections, and public policy matters.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Public Policy, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in regulatory, compliance, legal, or contract management roles.
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications regulations and public infrastructure funding programs in Canada.
  • Demonstrated experience with government-funded infrastructure projects and compliance audits.
  • Skilled in risk management, policy development, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • High level of professional integrity, attention to detail, and communication skills.

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience working with CRTC, ISED, and federal broadband funding programs.
  • Background in legal analysis or contract law related to construction or telecom.
  • Experience conducting internal or external audits.
