LOCATION: Saskatoon

ACCOUNTABLE TO: ELCC Family Supports Manager

Brief Overview MN–S is looking for a strong individual that has a passion for early learning, is an exceptional communicator, and a natural problem solver. Under the direction of the ELCC Family Supports Manager, the ELCC Program Coordinator will lead planning and administration of the childcare subsidy program to Metis families and children. This position is based at the Métis Nation–Saskatchewan office in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the MN-S Childcare Subsidy program.
  • Provide direction to early learning teams on the planning, development, and implementation of effective programs.
  • Lead MN–S early learning and education projects or programs within the Family Supports Unit, including program development, planning and delivery.
  • Develop Briefing Notes for department and provincial discussions.
  • Provide direction and supervision to the family supports team on case management and client services.
  • Providing direction to early learning teams on the planning, development, and implementation of effective programs.
  • Oversee team members to ensure productivity, provide guidance, and administer training.
  • Collect data and prepare reports which may include monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Monitor program budget.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with early learning and education service providers across the province.
  • As an ELCC team member, develop and set strategic goals and objectives in coordination with the ELCC strategic plan.
  • Support other ELCC programs and/or responsibilities during transitions.
  • Serve on committees as required.
  • Other duties/responsibilities as determined by manager.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Post secondary education and/or experience in Early Childhood Education, Education or Metis/Indigenous Studies.

Knowledge And Skills

  • Proven experience in a previous similar role.
  • Advanced computer skills including knowledge of Adobe and Microsoft Office programs Outlook, Word, Publisher, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of the structure and policies of federal, provincial and MN–S.
  • Knowledge of strategic and operational planning.
  • Budgeting skills, projection and monitoring.
  • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Willingness to work within a team environment.
  • Strong time-management skills along with the ability to prioritize daily tasks, organizational skills, and effective decision-making abilities.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Diligent with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain different topics.
  • Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.

Additional Requirements

  • Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and access reliable transportation.
  • Must undergo a Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector.
