Who We Are The Catholic Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese (the CISVA) operates 46 schools – 40 elementary and 6 high schools. About Established in 1982, Our Lady of Assumption School (OLA) is a co-ed elementary school from kindergarten to grade 7 serving families in the Tri-Cities and neighbouring areas. Over the years, we have grown from our humble beginnings in our parish portables, to becoming a highly reputable school with over 240 students. Our school provides a variety of opportunities with various athletic and fine arts programs, as well as the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Program.
At OLA, staff and students participate in many community outreach initiatives, including fundraisers for local and international non-profit organizations. At OLA, our community strives to walk in the footsteps of Jesus through our shared belief to be caring, sharing, and daring.

Our Lady of the Assumption School is seeking a full-time Education Assistant . The position involves providing instructional assistance and supervision to students with diverse needs under the direction of the classroom and Learning Resource teachers. An ability to collaborate in planning and implementing programs is essential. Attendance at IEP/School-Based Team meetings may be required.
Completion of an Education Assistant Certificate/Diploma Program from an accredited college or institute is required . A copy of all credentials must accompany your application.
The ideal applicant is willing and able to become involved in the extra-curricular life of the school and is a practicing Catholic.

The Catholic Independent Schools of Vancouver Archdiocese are group one independent schools, receiving 50% operational funding from the ministry of education. All schools teach the prescribed ministry of education curriculum. Teachers are paid according to the qualifications and years of experience. Teachers are also eligible for the Group Benefits Program that provides medical, dental, other extended health benefits, plus a defined contribution (DC) Group Pension Plan.
Teachers interested in making a career with CISVA should apply to the Superintendent's Office. Support staff, including Education Assistants, should apply directly to the individual schools.
