Gameplay Programmers are essential in crafting the strategic elements and immersive experience of our games. In this role, you'll primarily focus on data processing, data transfer, and backend services. As a member of the Gameplay Advance team, you'll collaborate with your peers to develop cutting-edge gameplay technology.
Your Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains data pipeline and services hosted in the cloud
- Ensures scalability, security, and performance of the cloud services.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including central team and DevOps.
Your Qualifications Please note that you do not need to qualify for all requirements to be considered. We encourage you to apply if you can meet most of the requirements and are comfortable opening a dialog to be considered.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or at least 5+ years in a hands-on development role
- Experience in shipping and supporting scalable cloud-hosted services
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Python, C++)
- Familiarity with Client/Server communication models
- Understanding of data streaming and designing WebSocket services
- Knowledge of HTTP and interacting with RESTful web services
- Experience with web app frontend development
- Experience with machine learning data frames, including frameworks like Polars
- Skilled in deploying services using Kubernetes and Docker
- Experience with public cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS)
- Understanding of modern database technologies
- Proficiency in source control tools such as Git or Perforce
- Experience in load testing, troubleshooting, and optimizing cloud service performance
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts and solutions
- Bonus: Experience with animation
Compensation And Benefits The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES
- British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$138,700 - $199,900 CAD
In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
