As a Wellness Program Specialist with Emergency Management & Community safety (EMCS), you will coordinate and deliver timely mental health and wellness programs to proactively support employee's wellbeing and workforce reintegration. You will support business unit staff by providing information regarding resources available and coordinate the business unit's peer support, Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), Corporate Psychological Safety and wellness data management programs. Primary duties include:

  • Participate in the creation, implementation, and continuous refinement of comprehensive wellness programs that promote psychological safety and mental health across the business unit. This includes peer support, post-critical incident care, clinician services, and reintegration protocols.
  • Contribute to the planning, coordination, and delivery of wellness-focused services and initiatives that foster a psychologically safe, inclusive, and supportive work environment.
  • Develop and conduct data collection and evaluation processes that inform the effectiveness and evolution of mental health and wellness programs.
  • Participates in the development and delivery of communication strategies, awareness initiatives, and engagement efforts aimed at fostering a culture that prioritizes mental health and psychological safety.
  • Build and sustain meaningful relationships with internal and external partners to strengthen the design and delivery of wellness programs.
  • Collaborate across departments, business units, and with community-based organizations and mental health professionals to ensure programming reflects leading practices and remains responsive to emerging needs.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Resources or a related discipline and at least 3 years of related experience delivering mental health, wellness or employee support services.
  • Knowledge and experience working with emergency response departments, including within paramilitary and large multi¿union environments is preferred.
  • Additional formal education or training in a related discipline, such as Certified Workplace Wellness Specialist, trauma¿informed care certification, psychological health and safety in the workplace, Registered Social Worker (RSW) designation, or an equivalent qualification will be considered an asset.
  • Well-developed communication and organization skills and a strong customer focus.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and effectively with others and use good judgement skills to make decisions that require some analysis and interpretation of critical medical information.

Compensation: Pay Grade 9 $41.49 - 55.51 per hour

Days of Work: This position works a 5 day

work week, with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
