Duties:

This position reports to the Divisional Financial Officer for the Immigration Division of Labour and Immigration in a shared services model. The position coordinates and performs specialized administrative, financial, human resource and payroll functions as well as providing job specific training to administrative staff within the Division.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Post secondary education in a Business Administration, Financial or related field. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Financial accounting knowledge and experience in accrual and

  • commitment accounting.

  • Excellent leadership skills.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to independently prioritize workload and meet strict deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work co-operatively and effectively in a team environment.

  • Effective problem solving skills and decision-making skills with the ability to analyze and do research.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.

  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to write clear and concise documents with strong attention to detail.

Desired:

  • Experience with SAP and/or similar accounting systems would be an asset.
  • Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in French.
