Job Title: Early Years Facilitator
Location: Oliver and Osoyoos
Employment Type: Temporary Part Time 18 hours a week October 13, 2025 - January 1, 2026

Job Summary

The Early Years Facilitator is responsible for the coordination, development, and delivery of a range of programs and workshops designed to support families with children aged 0 to 5 years. This position involves planning and implementing a calendar of activities that promote access to community resources and foster engagement through both virtual platforms and in-person services. The Facilitator plays a key role in strengthening family connections, enhancing early childhood development, and supporting inclusive, community-based programming.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in early years child programming, including direct support for young children's development and well-being in licensed or community-based settings.

  • Preferred or actively working towards a degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Care, Human Services, or a related field, supported by at least one year of relevant professional experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that clearly reflects the competencies required for the position.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communication, along with experience using computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, and ShareVision or comparable platforms.

  • Successful completion of the following pre-employment screening processes:

  • Criminal record check

  • Verification of personal and professional references

  • Submission of educational transcripts

  • Possession of a valid British Columbia driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, a clean driver’s abstract, and the ability to obtain business-use vehicle insurance.

  • Demonstrated training, education, and/or work experience in Early Years programming.

  • Commitment to adhere to OneSky Community Resources’ policies and procedures, program operations manual, and Code of Ethics.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven ability to engage and collaborate effectively with families, professionals, community stakeholders, and service providers.

  • Demonstrated understanding of child growth and development principles.

  • Awareness of cultural practices, traditions, and socio-economic factors impacting both urban and rural families.

  • Demonstrated competency in facilitating structured and informal programs and workshops.

  • Ability to work both independently and as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate both structured and informal programming for families with children aged 0 to 5 years, including play-based learning activities.

  • Support parents and caregivers in reflecting on their child’s developmental progress and learning.

  • Promote peer networking and community engagement opportunities for families with young children.

  • Assist families in accessing and navigating community resources, including referrals to appropriate professionals and services.

  • Administer developmental screening tools, such as the Ages and Stages Questionnaire, and provide follow-up support as needed.

  • Coordinate and deliver training sessions and workshops for parents, caregivers, and community stakeholders.

  • Maintain accurate program records and prepare reports in accordance with organizational requirements.

  • Demonstrate professionalism and a solution-focused approach in all interactions, serving as a positive role model.

  • Provide culturally responsive, inclusive, and family-centered information, resources, and strategies.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with OneSky staff, community partners, and service providers.

  • Represent the organization and its programs at external meetings, events, and collaborative initiatives.

  • Participate in internal meetings and organizational events as required.

  • Uphold and promote the mission, vision, and values of OneSky Community Resources.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the effective operation and integrity of the program.

Working Conditions

  • Work outside standard office hours may be required. Regional travel is necessary to support program delivery and community engagement.
