Job Description ROLE: Business Development Manager (18 Month Contract)

REPORTS TO: Sales Director

LOCATION: Guelph, ON

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our Sales team! The Business Development Manager will play a crucial role in the growth and profitability of our full dairy portfolio and is responsible for Planning, Strategy, Analytics, and administrative duties for our dairy brands which include Organic Meadow, Rolling Meadow and a2 Milk. For the assigned customers, this individual lead the development and execution of Organic Meadow’s annual sales plan, is accountable to achieve sales plan targets, and build strong customer relationships.

Opportunities This is a very exciting time for the Sales Team as we continue to grow and expand! You will have the opportunity to develop and be part of our Business Development team and represent our incredible brands driving growth in the marketplace, with direct accountability for our retail partners. This includes building strong customer relationships and influencing retailer strategies and tactics in the dairy category! Your top priority will be to deliver your annual sales plan and strategies for market expansion into the conventional and natural dairy sets. This includes ensuring distribution across our customer and product base, strong promotional plans, and flawless execution on new listings and innovation. An analytical approach and bias for action will be critical to achieving your objectives and leaving your imprint on the business!

Knowledge & skills

  • You have a solid business development and sales background
  • You consistently drive growth and achieve your sales plan targets by actively demonstrating your customer leadership skills
  • You have an analytical nature and strong familiarity with syndicated data and strategic data capabilities
  • You have exceptional communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills
  • You are an accomplished presenter with strong capabilities in building influential and fact-based presentations for Retail Grocery customers
  • You use your data and analysis to develop and deliver presentations to a variety of audiences

Experience

  • You have at least 5 years of experience in a CPG sales role, ideally in food/beverage category
  • You have experience working directly with large regional accounts like Save on Foods, Metro etc
  • You have experience in Dairy/Natural/Organic categories
  • You have a relevant Undergraduate Degree in Marketing or Business
  • Proficient in navigating/analysis of distributor and market/retailer data platforms (LDIA, IRI/Circana, Retail Link, dunnhumby, AC Nielsen)
  • Y ou have highly proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office

  • Existing customer relationships in Dairy, Deli and Cheese

  • You will build strategies and execute customer plans to achieve business plan targets
  • You will unlock market share growth in your assigned customer portfolio
  • You will leverage insights to influence the customer category plans
  • You will execute annual promotional plans, maintain forecasts, and manage your trade spend budget
  • You will expand distribution and new product launches flawlessly per company and retailer timeframes and guidelines
  • You will identify and communicate store level opportunities to category managers and ensure retailer accountability for program execution through store visits to observe overall compliance to agreed details and assess competitive tactics
