We are seeking a Intermediate Electrical Engineer with a foundation in electrical engineering, combined with computer science aptitude, to join our growing team. This role provides a unique opportunity to work across disciplines—electrical, controls, and software—to help bring world-first technologies to market. Key Responsibilities Technical · Assist in the design, testing, and integration of electrical systems for automated machinery. · Support creation of wiring diagrams, control panel designs, and electrical component selection. · Collaborate with external vendors and manufacturing partners to ensure compliance with CSA/UL standards. · Contribute to the design and/or review of technical literature, drawings, and procedural documents. · Support PLC, sensor, and motor integration into RAYHAWK systems. · Experience using EPLAN Pro Panel for electrical panel design, 3D panel layout, and generation of manufacturing documentation is required. · Leverage knowledge of programming languages to bridge the gap between electrical and software departments, ensuring seamless system integration. · Assist in the design, implementation, and testing of RAYHAWK applications and subsystems. · Participate in lab and field testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of autonomous systems. · Respond to technical inquiries and provide timely support to clients and team members. · Offer input on product development, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives. · Conduct factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT), preparing supporting documentation to confirm compliance with project specifications. · Generate documentation related to electrical integration of RAYHAWK systems. · Prepare technical reports, client correspondence, presentations, and other engineering deliverables. · Complete all work safely while ensuring adherence to relevant safety standards. · Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and colleagues, including preparing reports, quotes, and professional emails. · Provide site inspections and technical assistance as required. · Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) is considered an asset. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is required, with Computer Engineering or a related field considered an asset. An additional asset will be a strong aptitude in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and proficiency in Python, C#, C++. Experience with CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar) and knowledge of control systems, PLCs, and industrial automation is critical. Exposure to or a strong interest in machine learning concepts such as classification, anomaly detection, computer vision, or reinforcement learning will also be viewed favorably. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, along with excellent communication and collaboration abilities. WORKING CONDITIONS The incumbent works in an office/lab environment. Occasional site visits.
