Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
Top Benefits
About the role
**Greater Saint John Veterinary Urgent Care & Walk-in (Quispamsis)**is a part of the Galaxy Vets family, which is a new employee-centric healthcare system with a mission to give veterinary medicine back to veterinary professionals.
This Is Not a Traditional Technician Role
We are hiring an RVT who wants to practice at the top of their scope in a fast-paced urgent care environment.
At Galaxy Vets, RVTs are clinical leaders, not assistants to assistants. You are a medical decision-support partner to the DVM and a driver of patient care standards.
If you’re looking for a place where your skills are underutilized, this isn’t it.
If you want autonomy, ownership, and the opportunity to help build a sustainable veterinary business, then keep reading.
What Makes This Role Different
Each shift, you are a key clinical pillar.
You:
- Lead anesthesia and patient monitoring
- Perform venipuncture and place IV catheters confidently
- Initiate and manage fluid therapy
- Execute radiology safely and efficiently
- Monitor hospitalized patients and escalate concerns
- Educate clients clearly and compassionately
- Support surgical flow and sterile technique
- Help refine clinical processes and standards
You are empowered to practice to the full extent of your training and registration.
What We’re Looking For
- Registered Veterinary Technician (in good standing)
- Minimum 1–2 years of direct patient care experience preferred
- Strong anesthesia, catheter placement, and diagnostic support skills
- Confidence in urgent or high-pressure situations
- Excellent client communication
- A teammate who takes initiative and thinks critically
- Evening/weekend/holiday availability required (we believe in fair rotation)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a clinical environment, including bending, standing, stooping, kneeling, moving from room to room, and sitting; may be required to walk or stand for extended periods of time
Most importantly: someone who believes their role impacts the success of the entire hospital.
Our Core Values (And Yes, We Mean Them)
Owner’s Mindset – We act like this is our business. Because it is.
Sees the Big Picture – We are part of a larger network, not just one clinic.
Always Evolving – We always look for growth opportunities; both personally and professionally
Lead with Integrity – Holding ourselves, and each other, accountable to do the right thing even when nobody’s watching
Sense of Humor – We support each other, celebrate wins, and keep perspective when things get busy
The Essentials
- $28–$32/hour (based on experience, and involvement with the bigger picture)
- Health, dental, vision & life insurance
- Paid time off
- Participation in the Employee Ownership Trust
If you’re ready to practice high-level medicine while helping build something meaningful, we would love to meet you.
About Galaxy Vets
Galaxy Vets is an employee-owned veterinary urgent care group. Founded in 2021, we are building and operating urgent care practices across the U.S. and Canada, offering a new way for veterinary professionals to become business owners with zero upfront investment.
Our partnership model prioritizes burnout prevention and is designed for entrepreneurial veterinarians. For ER vets, we offer a path to open your own urgent care clinic without the burden of overnight shifts. General practice vets can shift toward more advanced medicine while taking on ownership. As a practice owner with Galaxy Vets, you'll receive equity, operational support, and recruiting assistance. With a mission to give veterinary medicine back to veterinary professionals, we also allocate equity to all employees — veterinarians, technicians, and support teams — making them co-owners of the entire group.
