WCLC is seeking an Azure System Administrator/ Infrastructure Specialist. As a System Administrator/ Infrastructure Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining WCLC IT infrastructure, participating in projects, and supporting production systems.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide technical support to our cloud-based Microsoft products, including Entra ID and Azure Cloud Services. Working with WCLC solution architects, you will develop your skills supporting and implementing cloud-based infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Support Entra ID, Microsoft 365 and Azure Cloud services.

  • Work closely with other staff to develop, monitor, optimize and maintain corporate cloud and on-prem environments.

  • Perform systems administration functions on Windows servers such as ensuring systems are properly patched and secured; installation and configuration of Windows servers (stand-alone and VMs).

  • Perform systems administration functions on various Cloud platforms and Services (SaaS, PaaS and IaaS) such as ensuring resources are configured and secured based on WCLC Standards and Industry Best Practises.

  • Research, evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools, providing documented results and preparing requests for implementation when required.

  • Participate in project work as a subject matter expert, building solutions from specifications.

  • Liaise on internal projects and with external vendors when required.

  • Provide general technical support for WCLC Windows/Microsoft solutions.

  • Install and configure Windows servers, following documented WCLC standards for patch management and security configuration.

  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Azure and Windows based automation solutions.

  • On-Call support is required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a computer related field, or equivalent training and industry certification.

  • 3+ years' experience with Windows, AD, and virtualization technologies (Azure Cloud, VMware)

  • 2+ years experience managing and administrating Microsoft 365 and Azure implementations of 100+ users.

  • 2+ years IT experience in cloud-based security and networking (AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Prolificacy in Azure Services: Computing, storage, networking, databases, security and backup/recovery.

  • Experience with Azure management tools (e.g., Portal, CLO, PowerShell, ARM templates).

  • Knowledge of Azure governance and security best practices, identity and access management, network security, and encryption.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Assets: Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Power Automate, Azure Functions), and security frameworks (e.g., CIS, PCI DSS).

  • Assets: Experience with AWS and other cloud services.

  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills detail.

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
