Job Description
As a Turf Care Supervisor, you will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendents assisting with oversight of daily operations. They lead and assist greenskeepers, ensuring exceptional course conditions are met daily through effective team coordination, core standards, and support.
Starting Rate: $22.27 per hour
We recognize tenure through our compensation. Hourly rates increase after six months, and yearly to three years. At three years the pay rate for this role would be $24.35
Preference will be given to candidates who are able to stay the entire season of March 31st/ April 8 to October 29.
Job Duties Include:
Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendents, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Lead and train small teams of Greenskeeper
- Complete irrigation repairs, audits and new installations.
- Perform a variety of fertility programs and IPM disciplines
- Assist in numerous plant health and cultural programs
- Facilitate various course improvement projects
- Consistently offer professional, engaging and friendly service
- Labor intensive work in the form of digging, lifting, pushing, and assorted tasks
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Your Skills & Qualifications:
- Class 5 Driver’s License & Updated driver’s abstract (no serious infractions in past year)
- Previous golf course maintenance experience required
- Ability to operate and assist with training on all mowing and cultural equipment
- Experience operating chainsaws, skid steer and tractors are an asset
- Enrollment/pursuit of education and career in turf/golf management is an asset
- Trouble shooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Detailed oriented
- Ability to multi-task
- Perform tasks under minimal supervision
- Ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule
- Ability to work in a team and independently
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Lifting & Carrying up to 70 lbs.
- Pushing & Pulling up to 50 lbs.
- Bending & Kneeling
- Repetitive tasks and movements
- Working early mornings
- Working in a variety of temperatures and conditions (snow, heat, rain)
