The Opportunity
To Provide excellent customer service to exceed the customer’s satisfaction. This includes answering questions about the Recreation Department, programs and activities. Completes daily cash reports, reconciles cash, process class registrations, memberships and facility rentals.
Accountabilities
- Provide quality customer service by answering public inquiries on recreation and City programs and services offered;
- Process registration requests (ie: swim lessons) and facility bookings (ie: gym rentals), whether in-person, phone or email using the assigned software;
- Receive payments for facility bookings, registration and point-of-sale services using cash, debit and credit;
- Prepare/Reconcile daily cash reports and bank deposits;
- Conduct inventory control of facility equipment (ie: meeting room AV equipment) and swim/fitness passes; and
- Other duties assigned related to the position.
The successful applicant will be required to participate in all training programs applicable to this position and other related work. Qualifications
Education - High School Diploma
Specific Skills - Use of various computer-based programs. Must be able to type 30 words per minute or greater and will be required to successfully complete a customer service aptitude test as administered by the Employer. Must provide a Certificate of Conduct, with Vulnerable Sector Check.
Relevant Experience – 1 year experience in customer service environment, accepting, processing and reconciling cash, debit and credit transactions or one year experience in a similar field sufficient to attain full competence.
Experience working with children, youth, and adults of all ages would be an asset. This position will work in a fast-paced and a multi-tasked recreation environment. Will be required to work day and/or evening shifts
Hours of Work
Call-in shifts as required.
