Hybrid Role Toronto, ON About the role: As a Data Governance Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting our enterprise data governance journey as we build a global property and client intelligence program on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Reporting to the Data Governance Manager and collaborating with data engineers and architects, you will help bridge the gap between technical execution and business policy. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills and growing governance knowledge to help shape the integrity, security, and usability of our global data assets. Manage the technical metadata repository and business glossaries to ensure our global data assets are easily discoverable. Profile global datasets to identify anomalies, measure data quality, and determine root causes of issues, and support automated remediation workflows. Assist in drafting, implementing, and enforcing data standards, naming conventions, and data classification policies across the organization. Analyze and triage data-related incidents across multiple systems. Collaborate with domain experts to define and document Critical Data Elements (CDEs) for core property, transaction, and client records. Support the transition from regional, legacy database environments to our unified global platforms. Identify opportunities to automate manual governance processes, streamlining operational workflows for engineering and business teams. Compile and report on governance metrics and KPI dashboards to demonstrate program progress and data quality improvements to leadership. Engagement & Adoption Support collaborative workshops with business lines and regional data leads to align on consistent global data definitions. Help develop training materials and documentation to empower and upskill our network of global business data stewards. Promote a data-driven culture and active stewardship by serving as a supportive liaison between business units and technical teams. Possess strong SQL querying skills and hands-on experience executing data profiling within a cloud-based data warehouse. Have a solid understanding of core data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data cataloguing concepts. Skilled at translating complex technical constraints into clear, business-friendly explanations, and vice-versa. Experience in configuring and managing Google Cloud Dataplex for automated policy enforcement and data profiling Awareness of data privacy principles (e.g., PIPEDA, and GDPR) Possess or working towards professional certifications in data governance (such as CDMP) Have some experience working within an established or growing data governance program. Understanding of real estate industry terminology. Experience with process documentation or workflow tools. Have experience working closely with data engineering and architecture teams to embed governance into the data pipeline. What you bring: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field such as: Information Systems, Business, Finance, or Economics, Data Analytics or Computer Science A minimum of 2 years of experience in data governance, data quality management, or general data analyst roles is required. Data or technology certifications, examples may include: Foundational data analytics & querying Have successfully collaborated within matrixed organizations to harmonize data across multiple regions and/or lines of business. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
