As a Field Service Supervisor (internally referred to as Response Supervisor), you’ll spend most of your time on the shop floor, ensuring safety compliance, mentoring technicians, and driving productivity. Your leadership will be key to maintaining operational excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Job Description:
- Champion a healthy and safe work environment by enforcing safety standards and procedures.
- Conduct daily and scheduled review meetings (pre-job, mid-job, post-job).
- Ensure compliance through proper truck inspections and documentation.
- Perform in-person inspections to verify JHA controls are applied and updated.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop staff, providing regular performance feedback.
- Spend time in the field to monitor work scope and address technical issues promptly.
- Manage the repair process, including tooling, warranty, and inspection findings.
- Oversee technician productivity, allocate resources, and manage job progress.
- Communicate job changes and updates to technicians during mid-job reviews.
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Lead and participate in safety meetings.
- Conduct pre-job and post-job reviews with technicians.
- Monitor field operations and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to team members.
- Track job progress and manage resource allocation.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience leading teams.
- Journeyperson certification in a relevant trade is an asset.
- Experience managing in a unionized environment is an asset.
- Strong understanding of safety standards and Human Organization Performance safety model.
- Financial acumen and strong business understanding.
- Knowledge of the National Safety Code and contamination control.
- Familiarity with Caterpillar product line and processes.
Important:
- Based out of our Mildred Lake site.
- Permanent, full-time role.
- 14x14 rotational shift.
- Camp and accommodations provided for out-of-town employees.
