Accountant and Financial Analyst
Full-Time, Permanent

Graymont is hiring an Accountant and Financial Analyst position. This position will be hybrid and based in Graymont’s head office in Richmond, BC. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IFRS, advanced Excel skills, strong analytic experience, and hands-on experience with ERP systems. This role requires a proactive individual who can effectively manage competing deadlines, collaborate across functions, and operate effectively with minimal supervision.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare, analyze, and review monthly internal financial statements and reports.
- Perform month end accounting
- Perform variance analysis and provide explanations for monthly, quarterly and yearly performance.
- Prepare, analyze, and review external financial statements under IFRS
- Assist with preparation of financial presentation and reports for management and Board of Directors
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports to support financial and operational decision-making.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial data.
- Work on ad hoc projects and analysis with general guidance and independently drive them to completion.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
- Leverage ERP system and reporting tool (JD Edwards and Cognos) for journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor queries.
- Work on continuous improvement and transformation of processes and systems within the accounting function.
- Occasionally provide training and technical guidance to other employees.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of progressive and relevant experience in accounting or financial reporting.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, complex formulas, data modeling).
- Strong experience with ERP systems, with preference for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.
- Proficiency with dashboards and analytical/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software or tools independently
