About the Toronto Cricket Skating & Curling Club: As a family-oriented private Club, our mission is to be a Great Club for our members by delivering exceptional experiences, inspired by our warm and welcoming culture. Located in North Toronto, the Club consists of over 4000 members, with a strong presence in both the local and international social and sporting community.

We are currently looking for a Part-Time Sports Desk Receptionist to join our team. The position requires coverage for Fridays, Weekends and Statutory Holidays. Additional shifts may also be scheduled as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Takes reservations from members by telephone or in person for tennis courts (winter and summer), squash courts, croquet (summer), health services and all Club-wide events; calls members back to confirm reservations
  • Responds to a wide range of enquiries related to sporting and event functions
  • Monitors courts hourly to ensure compliance with all rules and regulations; ensures that section rules are followed and handles any infractions
  • Monitors and records activities of restricted members who are not activity members
  • Updates the telephone recording for court and green conditions as appropriate; changes the greeting for the morning, afternoon and evenings in the summer
  • Completes charges for guest fees, no-shows or late cancellation fees, and records these in the appropriate record book
  • Maintains supply of movie tickets and squash/tennis balls and racquets
  • Liaises with Activity, Food & Beverage, and Facilities staff as appropriate

Skills/Qualifications

  • College diploma or equivalent combination of school and experience
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing environment required; experience in a hospitality or retail environment an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task, take initiative and prioritize
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well on an individual basis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Experience with Northstar or with a Club Management Software an asset
  • Must be flexible and available for Fridays, weekends and holidays

The Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club is a private athletic and social club in North Toronto. The Club has a rich history dating back to the establishment of the Toronto Cricket Club in 1827 which merged with the Toronto Skating Club and the Toronto - Victoria Curling and Bowlin Club in 1957.

The Club offers a wide variety of athletics including Aquatics, Cricket, Croquet, Curling, Fitness, Lawn Bowling, Skating, Squash and Tennis with programs and facilities for all skill levels and ages. Along with our athletics, we offer a number of dining options that include bistro dining to a casual sports bar.
