Position: Financial Analyst
Location: Downtown Toronto, hybrid onsite
Salary: Starting from $70,000 (commensurate with experience)
Job Type: Full-time, permanent, 35 hours/week
Our recruitment team is partnering with a respected non-profit organization in downtown Toronto to hire a Financial Analyst for a full-time, permanent role. This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical, detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams and contributing to a mission-driven environment.
About the Role: In this role, you will play a key part in the organization's Finance department, working closely with senior finance leadership. You will be responsible for financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and preparing required submissions to government funders. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a values-driven organization and takes initiative in improving reporting processes and financial oversight.
Key Responsibilities:

Analyze monthly financial results, comparing actual performance to budget, and prepare variance explanations for management.

Lead the preparation of quarterly and annual reporting requirements, including statistical and financial submissions for government funders.

Coordinate with internal departments to ensure accurate and timely collection of statistical data.

Support the development of annual budgets for various funding streams and assist with quarterly financial forecasts.

Identify key financial requirements related to each funding source and work with finance leadership to ensure compliance.

Monitor reporting deadlines and ensure submissions to funders and regulators are completed accurately and on time.

Assist in year-end financial statement preparation, including working papers and support for external audits.

Create and refine financial reports using the organization's accounting software to improve efficiency and analytical capabilities.

Support senior finance leadership with financial modeling, projections, and ad-hoc analysis related to organizational initiatives or program changes.

Perform additional duties as required.
What You Bring:

Strong analytical abilities and experience working with budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.

Experience in non-profit or government-funded environments is an asset.

Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems and Excel; comfort designing custom reports.

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

High attention to detail, accuracy, and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
