Position Overview
This project focuses on enhancing the Map-Aware Non-uniform Automata (MANA) model, originally developed by the New Zealand Defence Technology Agency (DTA) and written in Delphi.
We are seeking a Research Technician at the Royal Military College to support this initiative. The role involves improving the existing MANA model, with comprehensive user documentation and source code provided to assist in this process. The work will be conducted remotely, and this opportunity is full-time contractual up until March 31st 2026.
Responsibilities
- Map architecture of code
- Revise: Probability of detection / tracking / hit / kill models, Geospatial properties, Library of candidate weapons and associated parameters
- Develop and implement: Autonomous defence systems, Cyber attack capability, Grey-zone warfare, Missile systems
- Remove legacy/obsolete modules/controls
- Improve code efficiency for faster execution
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or higher
- Excellent coding skills (essential)
- Experience coding in Delphi or Pascal (preferred)
- Experience in technical writing (essential)
- Experience in combat modelling (preferred)
