Join Senator Rosa Galvez, Independent Senator for Quebec, in advancing national policy on climate action, environmental sustainability, and green innovation. With over 25 years of expertise in environmental engineering, Senator Galvez specializes in pollution control, sustainable development, and climate risk assessments. She is a leading voice in Canada’s push for a net-zero economy, having introduced the Climate-Aligned Finance Act and earned numerous awards for her environmental leadership.
This position offers the opportunity to support her impactful work through research, analysis, and strategic communication on key environmental and climate issues. You will contribute to shaping her positions on legislation, engage with stakeholders, and ensure her continued influence in environmental policy.
Core responsibilities:

Conduct research and analysis on climate and environmental policy;

Draft speeches, briefing notes, and reports on key issues;

Monitor Senate proceedings and identify opportunities for engagement;

Provide evidence-based advice to support legislative priorities;

Represent the Senator at meetings and events, building relationships with key stakeholders.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about environmental policy, climate action, and sustainable development.

The general public, to staff one (1) indeterminate full-time position in the Office of the Honourable Senator Rosa Galvez.

Prerequisites
- University degree in environmental science, engineering, law, public policy, or a related field; or a combination of relevant education, training, and experience in environmental policy, climate action, or sustainable development;
- Extensive and recent experience in researching, analyzing and assessing a broad range of information and making recommendations;
- Extensive and recent experience in writing documents such as briefing notes, reports, statements and speeches;
- Experience in providing strategic advice to senior officials on a variety of politically sensitive issues;
- Experience in developing and maintaining relationships with senior officials and/or parliamentarians;
- Extensive experience in using the MS-Office suite;
- Strategic and organized thinker with the ability to coordinate and multi-task to accomplish a variety of activities with tight timelines;
- Knowledge of effective communication techniques, methods, and practices, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally both orally and in writing;
- Knowledge and experience in the parliamentary process and political strategy;
- Proficiency in French is essential; bilingualism (French and English) is considered a strong asset.
