Ideally you are an automotive, heavy equipment, truck and coach, or power lift truck technician, or are enrolled in a motive power program. The Role
Reporting to the Field Service Manager, Field Service Technicians are responsible for driving to customer locations and troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing both Crown and competitors' lift trucks and other equipment.
- Discuss with customer and review recommended repairs. Estimate or quote repair costs. Place parts orders and complete necessary paperwork
- Perform safety and operational tests
- Perform pre-delivery inspections, lay down trucks, and install trucks as needed
- Communicate customer satisfaction information and leads to the appropriate personnel
- Complete all training as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
- Able to safely operate lift trucks and vehicles/service vans
- Able to sit, stand, walk, bend/stoop/twist, squat, reach below knee level, grip/grasp, work with arm outstretched, and work above chest level
- Able to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
- Able to occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 100 lbs, reach above shoulder level, climb stairs, climb ladders, torque, use vibratory tools, and pinch grip
Education and Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Valid driver’s license
- Industry related training and/or one to two years of prior experience (preferred)
- Able to read and understand hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Familiar with tools and equipment such as common hand tools, electrical/air tools, torch, arc welder, and various types of testing equipment
- Able to read and understand service manuals and microfiche, plan and follow-through
- Good organizational, customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required
