About the Role
The Senior Account Director is a senior client-facing leader responsible for managing key accounts, driving strategic thinking, and ensuring flawless execution of campaigns. This role requires strong business acumen, leadership skills, and the ability to foster collaborative relationships internally and externally. A commitment to creative excellence is essential - championing ideas that deliver impact and align with strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Relationship Management
Act as the primary day-to-day contact for clients, ensuring exceptional service. Build and maintain strong client relationships and trust. Serve as a key gatekeeper for business from both project management and financial perspectives. Manage challenging client situations with professionalism and tact. Foster collaboration and motivation within internal teams and partner agencies.
Business Management
Manage the financial health of client accounts, working closely with finance teams. Understand agency fees and negotiation processes. Monitor agency revenue and profitability for assigned accounts. Anticipate and address internal and external challenges proactively. Mentor and develop Account Supervisors and Account Executives on processes and business fundamentals. Participate in new business pitches.
Strategic Thinking & Creative Leadership
Provide strategic recommendations and articulate a clear point of view to clients. Champion creative excellence, ensuring work meets the highest standards and aligns with client objectives. Collaborate with planners and creative teams to develop compelling strategies and briefs. Evaluate creative work against strategic objectives and push for innovative solutions. Identify growth opportunities beyond the immediate scope of work.
Execution
Demonstrate strong WBS planning skills for all types of campaigns. Ensure flawless execution of campaigns and projects. Introduce innovative ideas to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Utilize agency resources to deliver solutions and best practices. Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and decisive action.
Qualifications
Minimum 8 years in account management within an advertising or marketing agency. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience). Strong leadership and team management capabilities. Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. Outstanding oral and written communication skills in French and English. Ability to manage financial tracking and forecasting for client accounts. Proven ability to motivate teams and build strong client relationships. Passion for creative excellence and ability to inspire teams toward innovative solutions.

The base salary range for this position is CAD $100,000 to $125,000, with final compensation determined based on factors such as work location, skills, experience, and background.
