Job Description
As a member of the Business Development and Marketing department at Al-Terra, the Proposal Coordinator supports project managers by preparing proposals aligned with the company’s marketing strategy and corporate objectives. Responsibilities include organizing proposal processes for the organization—identifying potential projects, facilitating the go/no-go decision, verifying required criteria, developing and arranging content, and submitting completed proposals. This position maintains consistency in proposals and contributes to an effective management process that aligns with Al-Terra’s strategic goals across all business units.
Responsibilities
- Manage various proposal activities, including project identification, evaluation processes, validation of criteria, and the coordination, development, and compilation of proposals.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of project profiles for marketing and proposal use.
- Provide support to technical staff in the preparation, formatting, composition, and revision of reports, construction memoranda, corporate invoices, and contractor progress payment certificates or billing documentation.
- Assist with developing proposal content and preparing submissions.
- Provide writing and formatting assistance throughout the organization to maintain professional standards and consistency in all documentation.
- Maintaining applicable content databases and internal knowledge-sharing platforms.
- Supporting Business Development and Marketing initiatives.
- Other duties as deemed necessary.
Requirements
- A post-secondary certificate or degree in business, marketing, communications, English, business administration or other relevant fields
- The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience preparing and managing proposals, ideally within an engineering or construction consulting environment.
Qualifications
- Industry certification in proposal management or other applicable certifications (APMP, PMP) is an asset.
- Familiarity with technical terminology, project delivery methods, and proposal requirements specific to civil engineering services is highly valuable.
- Strong organizational abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Attention to detail.
- Familiarity with the proposal process for the various types of clients.
- Experience with the development of construction contracts and tender procurement documents is an asset.
- Ability to prioritize work under pressure to meet proposal deadlines.
- Have a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
Working Conditions
- Full Time 40 hours per week
- Our team works primarily full-time from our office. However, we prioritize employee satisfaction and work-life balance. When possible, we can offer remote working options and flexible hours. These options are subject to workload, departmental needs, and their impact on the team.
- Occasional travel and overtime, including weekends, may be required.
- Ability to work at a desk for extended periods of time.
